Nur einem Mann hat das Schicksal das fast Unglaubliche gestattet; das ist Jim Buffalo!
Dieser tollkühne Mann entdeckte in einem hohlen Berg eine Maschine, mit der er in die Zukunft und in die Vergangenheit fahren konnte.
Das war die Teufelsmaschine!
Jim Buffalo vervollkommnete in genialer Art seinen Fund, sodass er die Zeitmaschine nicht nur als Fahrzeug in Zukunft und Vergangenheit, sondern auch als Rennautomobil, Motor- und Tauchboot verwenden konnte!
Wohl keinem Menschen war es je gestattet, in die Geheimnisse der Welt seit ihrem Bestehen bis zu ihrem Ende einzudringen.
So wird es Aufgabe dieser Sammlung Jim Buffalo, der Mann mit der Teufelsmaschine sein, die Erlebnisse dieses tollkühnen Helden zu schildern, die er mit Menschen vergangener und künftiger Zeiten hatte. Auch jene Abenteuer sollen zu beschreiben sein, die er gegen verbrecherische Elemente unserer Zeit bestand!
1922 startete der Moderne Volksbücher-Verlag mit Sitz in Leipzig-Volkmarsdorf die Serie und brachte es auf insgesamt 30 Abenteuer. 1923 wurde die Serie eingestellt.
